Full Stack Development for a InsureTech company in Europe

The customer wanted to build a platform to sell insurance policies direct to customers via an interactive web and mobile application. The policies were a combination of life, health, and income insurance. These were created by collaborating with industry leading insurance companies in these sectors. The platform had to automate functions such as accounting, billing, policy document generation, and payments. A configuration management system had to be built to allow generation of connectors to talk to legacy systems from partner insurance providers.

Challenges

Each legacy system from a partner insurance company had a different interface.
The platform needed to be built such that integrating with any legacy system could be made possible using a configuration management and DevOps pipeline.
A reusable UI component library had to be built. This library had a set of components that adhered to the design guidelines for the application.
Data needed to be encrypted and stored securely.

Solution

Wednesday setup a team of 4 senior software engineers, a designer, and a project manager to work on the project.
The design team worked with the customer to understand their customer and their pain points. Wireframes and low fidelity mockups were created to validate if users find it easy to use followed by high fidelity designs.
The engineering team worked on creating a connector ecosystem where external legacy systems can be mapped to the api interface that the platform understands.
